With the help of a snow day, this week remained highly productive. Although our group was unable to meet, I had the time to complete the library furniture plan and schematic ceiling design on top of starting volumetric design.

With the furniture choices, the library is geared towards a more traditional set-up on the first floor with tables and chairs as the primary sitting option.

On the second floor, the furniture choices are more contemporary with a relaxed feel. The palette of posture is broad and relaxing is encouraged just as much as remaining task orientated.

Volumetric design is one of my favorite parts of a project. With the help of Revit I was able to take camera views of certain perspectives with just basic walls and the furniture in place. Then with trash paper I was able to sketch over my ideas to further progress the space. Below are a few of the ideas.

The next few weeks I plan to expand on the volumetric design and start focusing in on details involving millwork and specs.
